Beware of Requests For Cashiers Checks Or Western Union Payments

Sep 16, 2007 16:58 - By: Vik Kachoria

Here’s the latest fraud being perpetrated on this and other travel & vacation websites. Please beware of any requests for payment by Cashiers Check or Western Union payments. Basically, don’t send money this way, it almost definitely is fraud.

Here is what happens:

Someone in Nigeria obtains stolen credit card information. They then use these credit cards to sign-up for an advertisement here, on other websites and in newspapers. Read more

RealAdventures v2.0 Coming Soon…

Aug 22, 2007 23:34 - By: Vik Kachoria

In between Marc’s programming-in-Hebrew lessons and my challenges with the short supply of Coke cans (bottled in Atlanta), we have been feverishly working on Version 2.0 of the RealAdventures website. This has been long over due, but we finally got the immense project started the beginning of this summer and are hoping to launch it early September.

At first, there will not be many differences in the layout of the various pages, but you should see a significant improvement in speed. In very rapid succession, we will be improving the navigation of the site and adding a number of exciting widgets.

I’ll provide more details as we get closer to the launch date….

Consistency in PHP

Aug 14, 2007 11:55 - By: Marc Hanlon

RealAdventures Launches Company Blog

Aug 13, 2007 15:20 - By: Vik Kachoria

Over a lunch discussion of various topics including the untimely demise of Coke cans, Marc Hanlon, RealAdventures super-star developer, suggested that we add a company blog. Instead of writing code, he’s been drawing odd looking geeky boxes on a white board and scheming up great ideas for RealAdventures to connect with visitors & advertisers.

I think there might be some confusion over his job description, nonetheless, his blogging idea was taken to heart and the company blog was launched.

Look to this blog for the latest development in the company website, marketing initiatives, new staff and other discussions on Coke cans, geeky boxes, etc, etc.
