Seeing the world doesn’t mean simply hopping on a charter flight to join the tourist hordes on packed beaches or in front of landmark buildings. With some creative thinking, travelers can head off on around the world adventures that will take them along the road less traveled.
Where do You Want to Go?
Is there somewhere in the world you have always dreamed of seeing? The sky-high Inca city of Machu Picchu, Peru or the Pyramids of Egypt? Whatever your travel dreams, you can make them a reality and it is possible to do so while avoiding feeling like just another tourist on their travels. While budget flights are excellent for transporting travelers from A to B, the sardine-can conditions of economy seating can be less than inspiring.
Many of us have lost track of the fact that we can actually choose to travel in more exciting ways, especially if we have a reasonable travel budget and plenty of time to play with. Ferries, yachts, coaches, cars, bicycles and even our own two feet can all play a part in our overseas adventures and by taking the road less traveled by we can really feel like we are tackling uncharted waters and experiencing something more than one would expect on a package tour or organised cruise.
Planning Your Trip.
It goes without saying that a trip that goes beyond the average package deal will also require a great deal more planning and more often than not, the travelers will need to have more than a week or a fortnight to play with. For anyone setting off on an epic adventure of several months or more, the details needn’t be fine tuned and half the fun can be in playing things by ear. Around the world, multiple-plane ticket can be an option for those wanting to make a whistle-stop tour of all places they have always dreamed of visiting, while those wanting to get to know a country or continent a little better may want to choose a return ticket to their destination of choice – be it South America, Asia, Africa or Europe and make their way from place to place using local bus and train service. For those who have a healthy amount of cash to spend, luxury modes of transport such as luxury boat charters are available.
Luxury Boat Travel.
For those who have the financial means, chartering a luxury yacht can be the most wonderful way to see a country or continent and passengers can set their own agendas and simply laze on deck in between stops. Far from being the sole preserve of millionaires and international playboys, a chartered yacht need not be out of the financial reach of travelers on more realistic budgets. Groups of travelers making their way around affordable destinations such as South America or South East Asia can book together to spend a few days aboard a charter yacht, while making the rest of their journey via more budget-friendly means of transport.
