Writing Criteria

Travel Related- Blog posts published on our site must be related to travel. Writing about an entire state, travel related activity, or a specific restaurant you visited while traveling is great, but we are very flexible about writing topics as long as it is relevant to travel. For example, you can write about smartphones as long as you focus on how people use them for traveling such as booking hotels, buying plane tickets, or staying in touch with family members. Our site ranges from romantic bed & breakfasts to luxury vacation rentals, from bungee jumping to safaris, and from Alaska to Zimbabwe, so there are plenty of travel related topics to blog about!
Link to RealAdventures - All blogs must have at least one link that directs readers to a relevant page on RealAdventures. If you can’t find a way to connect the content you are writing about to a relevant page on our site then the topic might not be appropriate. If you are writing about a restaurant in California you can link to our California summary page: http://www.realadventures.com/g54_california-vacations.htm

If you are writing about white water rafting you can link to our white water rafting page: http://www.realadventures.com/g692_rafting.htm

It is better to link to a summary page that shows multiple listings rather than linking directly to a listing page.
Links to 3rd Parties - You can link to 3rd parties as long as it is relevant, but use these links sparingly.
Categories – We currently have 6 different categories to choose from when categorizing your blog post. They are as follows:

  • Accommodations – This category is used when you are blogging about places to stay when traveling. Some examples that may fit in this category include a blog about a specific bed and breakfast in the mountains, how to save money by staying in a hostel, or the best beachside hotels.
  • Adventure Travel – This category is used when you are blogging about exciting and adrenaline pumping travel activities. Some examples that may fit in this category include a blog about horseback riding, great places to take a hike, or eco tours in the everglades.
  • Cultural Travel – This category is used when you are blogging about an activity or attraction that educates travelers about the history and culture of a location. Some examples that may fit in this category include a blog about a culinary tour in Italy, a Mayan pottery class, or a museum of ancient artifacts.
  • Destinations – This category is used when you are blogging about a specific location. Some examples that may fit in this category include a blog about the Caribbean, great places to travel in December, or the best beaches in Europe.
  • Events – This category is used when you are blogging about an event being held. Some examples that may fit in this category include a blog about the Saint Patrick’s Day parade in Ireland, the Cherry Blossom Festival in Japan, or the Coachella Music Festival in California.
  • Travel Tips – This category is for everything else travel that just can’t fit in another category. Use this category sparingly.

Although a blog may fall under many categories please try to choose only 1 category that best fits. This keeps our blog more organized, and allows our readers to easily find what they are looking for.

Original Content - By submitting a blog you agree that all the text and images used are original content created by you. Some circumstances may require citing and credit to a 3rd party, but use this sparingly.
Terms and Conditions - RealAdventures has the right to use, edit and distribute content submitted by guest bloggers.
