, 1 of 16 identical, historic, Victorian townhouses, faces south onto pretty Cawthra Park. We are just north of Toronto's Church St. gay village and just blocks south of the crossroads of the city Yonge and Bloor Streets where two subway lines intersect giving easy access to all Metro Toronto. Nearby is Yorkville, centre of sophisticated shopping, the mansions of Rosedale, Yonge Street restaurants, the ivy covered halls of Un. of Toronto and the museums and galleries of Midtown.
Entering through our shiny, red, front door, you arrive at the formal dining room, cozy guest Living room and guest kitchen. Sliding glass doors lead out to a charming, leafy deck/garden where you might choose to enjoy breakfast in the warm months. Our bright, modern guest kitchen gives you an option of preparing light meals to dining out in the numerous nearby restaurants. Enjoy the sun on the private, rooftop deck.
Five unique, air conditioned bedrooms, all with TV/VCR share 2 baths.The pine room on the 2nd floor at the back of the house is quiet, shady and furnished with a queen bed and pine armoir and furniture. The mahogany room, 2nd floor front, and our largest, looks out over Cawthra Park below. This room has a king or twin beds as you prefer, a dresser and a pull out sofa that sleeps 2.On the 3rd floor back is the maple room. This bright room with a queen bed has sliding glass doors leading out to our large private roof deck. The Oak room on the 3rd floor front, has a queen bed, ornamental fireplace and Oak writing deck overlooking the park and financial district skyscrapers to the south. Finally on the lower level of the house is the Elm suite, a small, economical 1 bedroom apartment, perfect for longer term stays.

Directions from Montreal, Ottawa, Upstate NYFollow the 401 freeway from Ontario border into Toronto. There are alternative short scenic routes that parellel the 401 that each might add 15 minutes to your overall drive. The 1,000 Islands parkway is a beautiful drive following the St. Lawrence river into Kingston. Parts of old highway 2 parallel Lake Ontario and pass thru some historic lovely old town such as Belleville and Port Hope. Once within the city watch for the Don Valley Parkway south. Travel about 10Km ( 6 miles), south on the Don Valley and exit on Bloor St. West. Travel west on Bloor to the lights at Church St. Turn left at the lights. travel 1/4 Km past the lights at Isabella St. Monteith is the 2nd street on your left. We are townhouse no. 10 with the shiny red door. If you are coming from Niagara falls, Buffalo, Cleveland, Rochester follow the QEW (Queen Elizabeth Way) signs to Toronto into the city along the lake and it becomes the Gardiner Expressway. When you pass the CN Tower, and Skydome Stadium look for the Jarvis St. exit North. Follow Jarvis 3Km ( 1 mile) north to Wellesley St. Left at the lights and 1 short block to Church St. Right at the lights 1 block to Monteith. 's, historic forts and battlefields, A quaint main street with clock tower, The George Bernard Shaw Festival and beautiful parks with views of the Niagara river and Lake Ontario. Niagara is the centre of one of Canada's wine regions and is famous for it's delicious Ice Wine. Several wineries offer tours, free tastings, fine restaurants and shops. Iniskillian Winery on the Niagara Parkway along the river is very good. From Detroit, Windsor, London, the 401 or the Airport, take the 427 freeway south about10Km ( 6 miles ), to the QEW (Queen Elizabeth Way) east and follow the signs to Toronto.
