Come explore the natural world of Southern Appalachia at Meadow Creek Mountain Farm and Riding Stables.

Join us for a naturalist¹s ramble through field and forest to discover and discuss whatever critters cross our path. This will include observing and identifying birds, talking about plant use, and interpreting animal tracks. There may even be the exciting opportunity to observe some wildlife up
close.

We will share tips and techniques on how to become more aware of and comfortable in the natural world, to help enhance your enjoyment and safety in the outdoors. Together, we will have fun practicing some basic skills
designed to give you self-assurance and the ³know how² to care for yourself and the wilderness. You will discover the wonderful freedom of traveling anywhere on the landscape knowing you can take care of yourself should you
become lost. Imagine the confidence you will feel building your own shelter and acquiring basic survival skills.

Your evening will begin with the option of a hay ride or trail ride to be followed by some night awareness activities. Develop your night vision, peak your curiosity and increase your comfort in the woods in a new and unusual way. We will close our day with a relaxing campfire where we can share songs and stories.

It is our hope that you will completely enjoy your time with us and that you will begin to experience the natural world in a very different way.
