Located in Albuquerque's East Mountain Area, Alta Mae's is near the Sandia National Wilderness, Sandia Peak ski resort, Paa-ko Ridge golf club and the Manzano mountains. The vast Estancia Valley is also nearby and offers the opportunity to catch a glider ride on some of the world's best updrafts. Historic Route 66 passes by our front door and leads directly into Albuquerque's Old Town plaza.

Alta Mae's building is newly constructed (completed in 1995) and is of Territorial style. Common areas are furnished with a unique mix of antiques from different periods, including a 1950's juke box and 1880's carousel animals. An enclosed courtyard enhances privacy and restfullness. Romantic, but not Victorian.

Most guest rooms at Alta Mae's have whirpool tubs and fireplaces, all have private baths, telephones and television. Guest rooms are furnished with queen-size beds with pillow-top mattresses, down pillows and comforters and plenty of large, fluffy towels.

Conference and meeting rooms will accomodate up to 100 people in a classroom setting. Banquets for up to 70 can be arranged with in-house catering available. Massage therapy is available on premisis or through a nearby Fitness facility where a full array of excersize equipment and aerobic activities are offered to our guests at a low, per-day rate.
Albuquerque proper is aproximately 20 minutes away with its vast selection of restaurants and night-life. Locally, several restaurants offer country meals, BBQ, fine dining in an unpretentious setting (former grocery store), dancing, and road-house atmosphere.

Alta Mae's full breakfast is served every morning. Romance packages include candles and in-room breakfast. Packages for glider rides, horseback rides, skiing and golf offer the guest the opportunity to take advantage of our lowest rate anytime of the year (Balloon Fiesta, and selected Holidays excluded).

Smoking is not allowed in any indoor areas, but is permissible outdoors, on the front portal while enjoying the view, or in the courtyard, please be courteous. The burning of incense or scented candles is also not allowed indoors. The use of oil is not permitted in whirlpool tubs, bath salts are provided. Sorry, we cannot accept pets. We cannot accommodate infants or toddlers under five years of age.
