Widely known as "Vermont's most romantic country inn," Thatcher Brook Inn is a Victorian mansion of grand style. Built in 1899 by lumber baron Stedman Wheeler, and named after the brook flowing nearby, the inn and its landmark twin gazebos, trellised gardens, and rambling wraparound porch, evoke images of a genteel New England past. Innkeepers Bob & Carla Burridge bring their unique talents to Thatcher Brook, making it one of the most popular destinations around. Year after year, people come back to relax in comfort, and luxuriate in all the inn has to offer. With 22 guestrooms, many with fireplaces and whirlpool baths, the inn offers a full array of services. Oh, and yes, it may be the most supremely well located inn throughout all New England. Situated halfway between Stowe and Sugarbush ski areas, Thatcher Brook Inn is close to just about everything you'll want to do and see, and yet removed from the hubbub and clamor.

Whether you're looking for a room with a fireplace, a whirlpool bath, a four-poster queen-size bed sitting high off the floor, or a quaint little room high in the eaves, you'll find it at the Thatcher Brook Inn. Each room at the inn is distinct. All are designed with comfort in mind, and tastefully appointed with antiques. Rooms/Suites
Guest rooms are scattered throughout the Inn, comprised of three buildings. The Main House is home to sixteen charming guest rooms, most of them on the second floor, and some accessible via the porch. The Carriage House accommodates two guest rooms with gas-burning fireplaces, whirlpool baths and extensive sitting areas. The Wheeler House, the original home of lumber baron Stedman Wheeler, offers rooms upstairs and downstairs that are cozy and warm. Whatever room you choose at Thatcher Brook, you'll find a private bath and telephone. We offer a range of rooms, at a range of prices and each day begins with a full country breakfast.
