The Catskill Region is a stunning blend of mountains, farmland, rivers and woodlands, dotted with quaint villages and rejuvenated towns. With the best fly-fishing east of the Mississippi on the Delaware River tributaries and the reservoirs, there is also great kayaking and canoeing, camping and hiking, mountain biking and road biking. The winter turns the same trails into great cross country skiing or snowshoeing treks, downhill skiing and snow tubing - it is an outdoors persons heaven. Great fun at local auctions, fairs and museums combined with bountiful farmers markets, vintage baseball games to watch, and music and theatre performances.
Many properties are luxurious as these are private homes, and not rental units. Owners tastes vary from homes with all the bells and whistles, to homes with the most luxurious appointments, to simple basic and clean premises. Yard size varies as does landscaping. Some have swimming ponds. Most people say the photos on our website do not do the homes justice. Two even have hottubs.
Homes range from a restored one room schoolhouse for two, log cabin for six, to a restored farmhouse with six bedrooms. Baths vary. The website link will give you individual details on each house. Some houses will lock extra bedrooms to help reduce the cost so don't be afraid to check out the larger homes.
All homes come with linens, towels, stocked kitchens, use of local phone service, outdoor grills and more. Most are privately situated, and on quiet back country roads. Some are made for reflection with no TV service, but most have VCR or DVD for entertainment.
Most, but not all, of our homes are pet friendly - but this means only dogs. Cats are never allowed except where the owner themselves have a cat. There is no smoking allowed inside any home.
Rates and availability vary - please call the contact information on the property listing. Lowest rate for a regular weekend is $300, highest rate is $1250. All rates must add sales tax and cleaning fee.
