Il Pianigiano is right in the heart of Tuscany, only 10 minutes driving from San Gimignano, and due to its location is the ideal starting point for tours to Florence, Siena, Pisa, Volterra and many other places.
Clean and quiet Il Pianigiano lays right outside the city center,only a ten minute walk from Certaldo downtown and what's better it's only 10 minutes walking distance or 2 minutes by car from the train station, where you can catch a train to anywhere!!!
This is a great place to get a good sleep at night and relax during the day in our garden or in the front yard.
There are also a common kitchen where you can prepare your own food and a dining room where you can enjoy your meals and chat with your friends or even make new ones.
Every room has its own bathroom, air conditioning and tv set. All rooms are cleaned daily by our professional full time staff. Linens are provided and towels are available at no cost.

Il Pianigiano is located in Certaldo, between Firenze and Siena but it's very easy to get here even from many other locations.
By train:
- From Florence take a train to Siena and get off in Certaldo. You may have a connection in Empoli, check out the schedule.
- From Siena catch a train to Florence and still get off in Certaldo (no other possible connections).
- From Pisa take a train to Empoli and from there the one that goes to Siena and still get off in Certaldo.
Give us a call and tell us when you arrive at the station in Certaldo and we'll be glad to pick you up there. If you want to walk from there, just turn left from the station along the one way main road. After approximately 1.5 km you'll find 'Via Fonda'. Turn left. This becomes 'Via Piano di Sotto'. We are on the left.
