The Djibouti Palace Kempinski opened in November 2006 to host the COMESA (Common Market for Eastern and Southern Africa) Meeting of the Council of Ministers . The Djibouti Palace Kempinski is today a landmark for the Republic of Djibouti on the East coast of the "Horn of Africa", offering true five star luxury service and standards throughout the palace and its state-of-the-art conference centre . The property's first phase opened in November 2006 with an initial 177 rooms and suites, the full complement of the prestigious conference center s meeting rooms, several restaurants and an entertainment center . The hotel s second phase has been completed in Summer 2007, taking the hotel room numbers to 320 along suites and residences, Spa and fitness center, tennis courts and opening a brand new Casino in July 2012 .
