Winner of \'Top Choice\' Award, Lonely Planet Fiji 2012. Discover a fun, eco-friendly, culturally immersed and impossibly beautiful hidden paradise of Fiji. The Maqai tribe (the staff) host the resort with natural, sincere abundance of outer island hospitality. The beachfront property on Qamea Island is nestled between a full lush jungle and a lovely white sandy beach. The tribe are the happiest people on the planet and give the place a radiant, magical atmosphere. It\'s a new fresh style of small resort that is very Fijian, offers traditional outer island experiences and serves delicious food!

An adventure to Maqai is like an escape from the tourist trail and the world outside. Daily life involves volcanic mountains, true Fijian villages, and the endless possibilities of the pacific ocean. A whole range of fun activities are possible- snorkelling, fishing, diving, surfing and hiking are all awesome! But the traditional outer island life that surrounds us is what makes Maqai so uniquely special. To stay here is to surround yourself in the fun-loving culture of pure Fiji.

Accomodation is in Eco-Bures ( safari cabins). We have 8 and they are nestled under the palms along the beachfront.
Eco-Bures are furnished with comfy dressed beds, lazy deck chairs, rainwater flush toilets, rainwater showers and are just a few meters from the ocean. Singles, twins, doubles and triple-share dorms are all the options

Maqai food is delicious! Breakfast, lunch, and dinner is prepared with a combination of vegetables harvested fresh from our on-sight organic garden as well as from the local farmer\'s markets. Fresh catch seafood is often on the menu and meal inspirations and recipes come from the local Fijian village home as well as popular favorites across the globe. Tea and coffee is available all day. Fresh fruit is everywhere. And on special occasions, the Maqai crew do a Lovo night or a big BBQ feast.

Maqai Beach\'s Fiji Fusion Meal Plan is F$60 per day, the Vegetarian meal Plan is F$50 for adults and F$40 for children under 16 years
