All ages are welcome. While kayaking

The Llano River offers a variety of sleeping options, including very secluded, primitive, camping, groomed campgrounds and RV parks with facilities , and cozy riverside B&Bs.
You are on a public river and in the company of yourself or your group, so there are no imposed restrictions. It is advisable to keep your dog under control and away from livestock. Mason Texas is our hometown and base of operation. Most of our trips are done alomng the Llano River in Mason, Llano, and Kimble Counties. We are available for trips outside of this area if needed. However, it is less expensive to find an outfiter as close as possible to your paddling destination. I am happy to help you with that for the Texas Hill Country.
Mason is a small town in rural Central Texas. It is a very scenic and friendly place. It still operates on a 9-5 basis for many businesses, with Sunday finding almost everything closed other than restaraunts, lodging, our grocery store and a few antique shops.
From May through October, Mason County is home to a colony of 3 million Mexican Freetail bats who reside in the Eckert James River Bat Cave. This is an experience not to be missed.
The Paint Rock Pictograph Site is located a scenic 1.5 hours north, on the banks of the Concho River, near the town of Paint Rock. Exceptional viewings occur during the 2 annual solstices and vernal equinoxes. This is the finest display of pictographs in Texas outside of the Seminole Canyon area. The owners, Fred and Kay Campbel, make the visit extra special.
