Located in the heart of Bad Rock Canyon and just minutes outside of the west entrance to the Glacier National Park, the Flathead National Forest is in our backyard and we are a convenient drive to nearby Bigfork, Flathead Lake, Lakeside, Kalispell, Whitefish and West Glacier, Montana.
The Main Lodge--originally built in 1907 and updated in 2003--provides classic ambiance with modern amenities, 3400 square feet of rustic charm and still boasts its original over-sized natural stone fireplace and pole pine lodge architecture.
We offer a selection of 22 private cabins and have recently remodelled the lodge to include four lodge rooms, each with attached bath.
Our cabins are also available now for long-term rental from October through May. Ask us about discounted weekly and monthly rates.
Four brand new lodge rooms are available from June 2013. Each room has an attached bath and access to the lodge great room.
Our Merritt cabin is ADA approved and offers a wheelchair accessible full bath and full kitchen along with one queen bed in a studio setting.

The Historic Tamarack Lodge and Cabins are located next to Glacier National Park within the Flathead National Forest. The closest big city is Kalispell, located only 30 minutes away. Glacier International Airport is located nearby Kalispell, and is only 20 minutes away. The airport code for the Glacier International Airport is "FCA".
From the South: Approximately 8 hours drive from Yellowstone National Park. From Yellowstone, take 287, 191, or 89 north to Interstate-90. Follow interstate 90W to Missoula. In Missoula, get on 93N to Kalispell. In Kalispell, take Highway 2 East all the way through the town of Hungry Horse. We are located on the right side of US Highway 2 at 9549 Highway 2 East, Hungry Horse, Montana.
From the East: Travelling across Montana from the east, follow Highway 2 going west. We are 8 miles past the town of West Glacier, on the left at 9549 US Highway 2 East, Hungry Horse, Montana.
From the West: Travelling from Spokane or Coeur D'Alene, take 90E to St. Regis then take highway 135 east to 200 east to highway 93 north to Kalispell. At the intersection of highway 93 and highway 2, take US highway 2 west towards the Glacier National Park all the way through to the town of Hungry Horse. We are located about 2 mile past Hungry on the right at 9549 US highway 2 East, Hungry Horse, Montana.
