Visit us at the Fr. Andrew P. Kashevaroff (APK) building in downtown Juneau, for a uniquely comprehensive view of Alaska's history and diverse cultures including fine art, mining, fishing, forestry, tourism, Russia-America, and World War II. Science-on-a-Sphere TM is a six-foot globe showing animated displays of planetary data. There is a children's room, with a climb-aboard replica of a sailing ship, other area is under renovation. Also, see the State Library and the State Archives with Alaskana collections, newspapers and magazines, Wi-Fi, and more as well as a small café on site. Please check out our website with many virtual resources. Museum is open Wednesday - Sunday, 9AM -5PM. Youth are free & active military and senior discounts.

From the downtown cruise ship docks, stroll 3-5 blocks for about 5-15 minutes along the waterfront past the Main Street traffic light and 1 block further to turn right at the traffic light on Whittier Street. Coming from the airport, drive about 15 minutes along the Egan Highway towards downtown and turn left on Whittier Street at the second stop light after passing the bridge on the right. Look for us in the second building on the left at 395 Whittier Street. There is free visitor parking underneath the building accessed down a steep driveway on the right side of the building.
