Stikine River Wilderness adventure tours and LeConte Glacier "Little Norway" tours by Jet boat. Explore the wilderness of SE Alaska in a comfortable, heated jet boat with a marine head (toilet) on-board. This is the only jet boat operating out of Wrangell with a marine head on-board. Stikine River Wilderness Tours normally depart at 8:30am and return to Wrangell at 12:30pm.
Le Conte Glacier "Little Norway" tours depart at various times depending upon tides.
AnAn Bears tour requires walking about a mile into the observation deck on a boardwalk trail with many stairs and no handrail. Guests need to be in reasonably good physical condition to take this tour. This is a close encounter with bears.
Typical Day
Stikine River Wilderness tours normally depart at 8:30am. Travel 70 miles by jet boat on this adventure. See icebergs, often times Shakes Glacier (depending upon blockages of icebergs at Shakes Lake outlet). We often see moose and bears, both Black Bears and Brown Bears on these tours. Bald Eagles, Harbor Seals and waterfowl. Travel through several different micro-ecosystems on this tour.
AnAn Bears tours normally depart at 1:30 pm and return to Wrangell about 7:30pm.
Age range, type of group
Stikine River Wilderness and LeConte glacier tours are suitable for people of all ages. They are not wheel-chair accessible due to safety reasons.
Sleeping and meals
Stikine River Safari is a four day/three night safari into the wilderness of British Columbia, Canada. We travel 165 miles by jet boat up the Stikine River and stay on Canadian Homesteads. All transportation, meals and guided tours are included in the price.
