Rafael`s House is located in the heart of Bastimentos Town and has been part of Old Banks history for over 80 years.
Rafael`s house is built in the Caribbean, Colonial style that is widely seen on the Islands. Rafael`s House stands on stilts, is colorfully painted, has lots of windows and balconies on both sides of the house. Recently, Rafael`s House has been completely renovated, giving you the opportunity to find out what life is like in Panama`s Paradise.
It will not be hard to find Rafael's House on Isla Bastimentos. Rafael has lived here his entire life and he is known by as well as everyone on the island. Rafael's house is situated right on Main Street, just meters away from the Park, the favorite hangout for the local people. Here you also find the Supermarket, the Police Station, the Hospital and public phones. You are in the center of Bastimentos Town!
The front porch of Rafael's House gives you first class view on Main Street. From your hammock you witness all the daily activities that take place in the lives of the local people living around you. Soon you might pick up some of the local language: 'Whappin man!'

To get to Isla Bastiemntos, you first have to go to Isla Colon.
There are two ways to get to Isla Colon: by plane or by water taxi. If you travel with public transportation, you take the water taxi from Almirante. You can take the boat at Taxi 25 or Bocas marine Tours. In 20 minutes you reach Isla Colon. Planes fly into Bocas from Panama City or San Jose, Costa Rica.
When you arrive in Isla Colon, take a boat to Isla Bastimentos.Transportation to Isla Bastimentos in the daytime is frequent and easy. From Bocas Town, you take a boat on the dock right next to Bocas Marine Tours on Main Street. A ride to Bastimentos cost $3.00 and will take about 5 to 10 minutes. Get out in the park and take a right. In two minutes you reach Rafael`s House, on your right hand side.
