Typical Daykeyboard_double_arrow_up
DAY 1 - MANAUS / TROPICAL TREE CLIMBING GUEST HOUSE (L, D)

Bright and early at 8:00 a.m. you will be met at the airport or hotel by your naturalist guide and transferred by car to the lodge, about a two-hour drive with a 10 minute stop at the halfway mark. Along the journey, the vegetation changes from colonized deforested areas to virgin rainforest. You’ll arrive to a warm welcome at the Tropical Tree Climbing Guest House (click here to see more information). Meet for an orientation lunch with our tour leaders. Dinner and overnight at the lodge.

DAY 2 - FOREST HIKING / TREE CLIMBING (B, L, D)

After breakfast, you and your guide have the day to explore the jungle and the focus here is on living in the wilderness. The well-constructed TTC Campsite provides basic accommodations within the native environment, perfect for a day of rainforest camping. The campsite has a stream for water, and meal (lunch) is served in the streamside dining area. After lunch, prepare for an exciting tree climbing adventure! From the campsite you will embark on a guided walk along a trail that meanders through the Amazon rainforest's thick canopy.

Our tree climbing adventure begins with an Angelim Tree (Dinizia Excelsa) ranging from 200 feet tall, specially selected for your adventure. You’ll receive thorough instructions in tree climbing techniques, and your guide will be alongside you as you ascend into the canopy. Once high in the tree, there will be a canvas hammock waiting for you to rest, relax and observe life from a bird’s eye view. Enjoy the landscape before you while you savor seasonal tropical fruit or a snack...ahhh, we call this Tree Time! Dinner and overnight at the lodge.

DAY 3 - CULTURAL VISIT / MANAUS (B, L)

You’ll begin your day with a good breakfast at the lodge. Lunch followed by a short walk to the local area where you will have the opportunity to meet Amazonian people known as Caboclos, and immerse yourself in the local culture. You may learn how to climb the palm tree without any ropes and, depending on the time of year, retrieve the fruit and enjoy making your own fresh, exotic juice drink! This is truly an experience not to be missed. From here, you’ll return to Manaus after lunch. We will drive you to the hotel or to catch your flight home.

The Tropical Tree Climbing Guest House

Our property is 667-acres of natural rainforest situated inside the Environmental Protection Area of Cave of the Maruaga. It is located at Km 144 of the highway BR 174 (direction Manaus - Boa Vista), in the township of Presidente Figueiredo, Amazon - Brazil ( the same road that goes to Venezuela).

ACCOMMODATION

Our lodge offers beautiful, simple, and comfortable accommodations tucked into our tropical gardens and rainforest, providing you a rustic comfortable place to rest after adventure filled days.

In the Main Building from the lodge guests can sleep in hammocks at 3 well-appointed rooms for families or small groups, and put their belongings in lockers, so they can feel free to move around. They are made from wood and screened to protect their occupants from insects and have a shared bathroom with running water (non heated). Each hammock is protected by a mosquito net. Located in front of the camp fire and surrounded by our garden, they are perfect to relax, to rest and enjoy your privacy. We have a great view of the rainforest from the veranda, which is the best place to relax and just enjoy this unique opportunity to listen to the sounds of nature.

MEALS AND BEVERAGES

We offers full board, and meals are prepared on a separate raised open platform where a local cook manages a fully equipped kitchen with wood oven and stove. Some of the dishes are typically Brazilian, but international food is also served. Our meals consist of fresh foods with minimal processing and we try to eat organic whenever we can. Local fishermen supply us normally with tucunare fish, matrixã and pescada. Meals are served in the main dining room.

Let us know if you need a vegetarian, vegan or other special menu.
