Built in the early years of the 1900s of the typical pink stone quarried from Mount Subasio, near Assisi, the Hotel Porta Nuova was originally a large private home, renovated into a hotel in 1988.

- by car: from south: A1 exit Orte, follow direction to Terni for circa 20km then take E45 direction to Todi-Deruta, then SS75 to Assisi-Foligno, take exit Santa Maria degli Angeli nord.
Then: follow Assisi centro and Parking B, at round-about number 6 turn left,
