Located in the foothills of the Almaty Gorge, this hostel is just a 15-minute drive from Almaty city centre. Its rooms and dormitories have free Wi-Fi and offer mountain views.

Kok-Tobe Mountain is a 10-minute drive from Hostel Almaty, and there are several scenic hiking routes in the area. Almaty Hostel even offers an on-site climbing wall for guest use.
The Central State Museum and the Sports Palace are just 12 km from the hostel. A shuttle service into the city centre or to Almaty Airport is available for an extra fee, and free parking is provided.
The location is next to 'Presidents Park'. In a taxi, you should ask for the road to 'Almarasan'. The Hostel will be on your left as you drive up the hill. It has a very large climbing wall on the side of the hostel which towers above all the surrounding buildings, so you can't miss it.
