Chesapeake Bay Charters
Welcome to York River Charters! Voted "Best Fishing in Virginia" for the second consecutive year, most of our saltwater fishing charters originate on the scenic York River in Virginia, a major tributary of the Chesapeake Bay. We offer our guests both sport fishing charters and sightseeing tours. We are the only fishing charter boat contracted to dock at beautiful Riverwalk Landing on the historic Yorktown waterfront. This makes us the fishing charter located nearest to Williamsburg, VA.
VA's Best Charters!
Experience all that the Virginia Chesapeake Bay has to offer from the well equipped Catchin' Up II. She's a 25 foot pilot house sport fishing boat with state-of-the-art electronics. Catchin' Up II gives Captain Alan the ability to easily guide your party into a secluded saltwater creek or tranquil flat, as well as safely dash you out into our deeper waters!
Virginia Saltwater Sport Fishing
The charter boat Catchin' Up II presents our guests the opportunity to have a truly personalized experience on the Chesapeake Bay of VA. For you, this may mean tailoring a saltwater fishing charter combining some bottom fishing for croaker, spot or flounder with an equal amount of time spent sport fishing by live baiting for mighty cobia and shark, or trolling for trophy striped bass (stripers), bluefish or Spanish mackerel. Some folks enjoy fishing for speckled trout and red drum (redfish) on light tackle along the flats or crabbing for Virginia Chesapeake Bay Blue Crab. Others may want to take one of our intimate sunset cruises topped off by a waterfront dining experience in Yorktown or Gloucester Point.
VA Chesapeake Bay Sightseeing
Ask about our special day trips to the third oldest lighthouse still standing on the Chesapeake Bay, (tenth oldest in the U.S)... The stunning nearby beach is accessible only by boat, making it an awesome secluded swim and picnic spot!

You may want to learn a little of the rich history of the VA Chesapeake Bay region and get an introduction to some of it's aquatic inhabitants by chartering a sightseeing tour or pleasure excursion that usually includes dolphin watching. Or, you may prefer to cast lures sport fishing for salt water rockfish (striped bass) or spotted seatrout. Either way Capt. Alan's unique perspective and knowledge of Virginia's Chesapeake Bay region are sure to give you reason to join us many times in the future and become yet another lifelong charter friend.
