We are centrally located in Portland\'s historic and vibrant Northwest/Nob Hill district with cafés, shops, brew pubs, theatres, galleries, and nightlife. You can walk to downtown, Amtrak/Greyhound, Washington Park (Rose Garden, Japanese Garden), Powell\'s City of Books, Saturday Market (& Sundays too), farmers\' markets, museums, the Pearl arts district, Chinatown and more. The Mission Brew Pub Theater ($3 movies) is only one block away. Nearby Forest Park, the country\'s largest urban wilderness, offers great hiking and biking. If you are tired of walking, catch the streetcar or MAX in Portland\'s free rail zone. The airport MAX train stops 5 short blocks away from the hostel (get off at Jeld-Wen Field Station - formerly PGE Park).

Our hostel is housed in two historic buildings. Our main building, the Elliston, built in 1889, is a historic landmark and on the national register for historic places. The hostel features dorms and private rooms, outdoor gardens and courtyard with BBQ, kitchen and dining room, coffee bar, common areas, laundry facilities, Internet kiosk, free local phone calls, free wireless internet for laptops, free in-room lockers, free luggage storage, free parking lot and free on-street parking, and free artisan breads. Registered guests have 24 hour access.

Helpful and friendly staff offer great information on things to see and do, and we provide free maps. Our information boards are updated every week. We have regularly scheduled free events (movie nights, etc.) and offer free walking tours and pub crawls to give you a taste of Portland, "America\'s most European city". Van tours can be booked to Mount St. Helens Volcano, Columbia River Gorge Waterfalls, and the Oregon Coast. During the summer months, free weekly summer music concerts are offered in neighboring parks.

We are located on NW 18th Avenue, between Flanders and Glisan Street.

From Airport: Take red line MAX train to Jeld-Wen Field Station, walk north on 18th Avenue 5 blocks to hostel.

From Train or Bus: walk south 1 block, then right on Glisan, 12 blocks to hostel (10-15 minutes). Or take bus #77 to NW Glisan and 19th.

From South: Take I-405 (exit 299B), exit on Everett St., left on Glisan St., 3 blocks to hostel.

From North: Take I-405 (exit 302B), exit on Everett St., follow signs around block to Glisan, hostel is 3 blocks, on left.
