Hostel Skippy offers a peaceful and completely non-smoking environment. It is a charming 200-year-old house located along the Vltava River in historical Česk� Krumlov. Run by a musician and a writer, this very unique riverside hostel is cozy, intimate, down to earth, and very relaxing. We understand that taking a break from big cities and constant travel is important, so our aim is to create an atmosphere where our guests can rest,feel at home, open a bottle of wine, make great meals, and enjoy life by the river.
Upon arrival we will give you a map of the town and helpful tips about where to eat, drink, and have a great time. We will also be happy to assist you with day trips, bike rentals, boat rentals, horseback riding, arranging a massage, or to help you with with planning onward travels. ARRIVAL BY BUS FROM THE MAIN BUS STATION: From the bus station walk toward the end of the parking area toward the view of the castle. You will find a small path at the end of the bus terminal. Take it. It will go slightly uphill and then bend to the right until you reach a traffic light at the main road. Cross the main road and continue forward into town. When you reach the church stairs on your left side make a left and walk along the road which is to the right of the stairs. You will notice a lot of artwork in the windows of the building on the right side as you walk along. It is an art school for children. As the little road goes downhill make a left at the first street. You will notice some interesting sculpture of fingers holding up the corner of the building... it is an art shop. Once you turn left you will cross the bridge and continue go forward. Then you can either go up the stairs that you will reach at the end of the bridge OR if you prefer an easier way, turn to the left and walk a few minutes and then turn to the right at the first street (see the map for this option). It will lead you slightly uphill until you reach a small parking area. Once there, turn to the left... after a minute you will see an orange house on your left side and then the street will start to go downhill. Our hostel is on the left side slightly below street level. If you decide to go up the stairs, once you reach the top just go forward, through the parking area and continue past the orange house until you find us.
ARRIVAL BY BUS FROM SPICAK BUS STOP: Cross the main road and turn to the right so that you are walking against traffic with the castle on your left side. When you reach the first parking lot turn to the left and go through it. Cross a tiny bridge that goes over a creek and continue forward underneathe a large white castle bridge. Just past the bridge turn to the right and walk along the river passing many buildings on your right until the street ends and you reach the plesivec stairs on the right. Go up the stairs, through the small parking area, and continue forward. You will pass an orange house on the left and the street will start to go downhill. Our place is a white house on the left side slightly below street level.
ARRIVAL BY TRAIN : The train station is on a hill quite removed from the town but it's a downhill walk. We recommend that you try to arrive by bus if possible. If you want, you can call us upon arrival and we can organize a taxi for you. The cost for a taxi from the station is approximately 140kc for the car. It's worth it if there are many people in your group to share the cost. Directions for those who prefer to walk are shown below.
