Situated in the heart of the Brecon Beacons
we aim to provide our guests with everything they need to make their travels safe, relaxing and enjoyable.
Come and relax in the bar in front of the wood burning stove chat to the locals with a pint of traditional Welsh ale while planning your route up the many mountain trails which are only a short distance from us.
At Beacons Backpacker we offer the following facilities all dorm rooms are en-suite with hot showers, lounge room with DVD library and games console, continental style breakfast, tea & coffee all day.
Beacons Backpackers is located in the village of Bwlch in the heart of the Brecon Beacons. Bwlch is located 8 miles outside of Brecon
We are on the A40 which is on the main bus route. Take the X43 bus (bay 1), from Greyfriars Road, Cardiff through to the Village of Bwlch.
DO NOT GET OFF THE BUS IN BRECON
From London and the South: Take M4 over Severn Crossing or Bridge to Junction 24 (Newport) then north on A 449 to Raglan where you join the A 40 signed Abergavenny. From Abergavenny follow signs to Brecon (A40). We are located on the A40 Between Crickhowell and Brecon in the village of Bwlch. Beacons Backpackers is situated at the top of the hill on the left hand side.
From Birmingham and the North: Follow M5 south to Junction 8 (M50) then follow M50 west until you pick up the A40 at Ross-on-Wye. Follow A40 past Monmouth to Raglan then follow signs to Abergavenny (A40). From Abergavenny follow signs to Brecon (A40). We are located on the A40 Between Crickhowell and Brecon in the village of Bwlch. Beacons Backpackers is situated at the top of the hill on the left hand side.
From West Wales: Leave M4 at Junction 32 (Cardiff) then take the A470 signposted Merthyr Tydfil. Follow A470 to Brecon, upon reaching the Brecon round-about follow signs to Abergavenny (A40) for about 8 miles. We are located in the small village of Bwlch on the A40. Beacons Backpackers is situated at the top of the hill on the right hand side.
