For the second year in a row Montreal Central has been ranked the #1 hostel in both North America and Canada (a first in Hostelworld history). We were also rated the 5th worldwide for medium hostels, and all in less than three years of operation.

We have an ideal location in the Latin Quarter, which is renowned for being the heartbeat of Montreal with its cafés, bars, entertainment and transportation (Main metro hub, Berri-UQAM station and the central bus station, Station Centrale) being only minutes' walk from our property.

We offer you the highest quality accommodations and services. Thanks to your great input we've grown around your requests and continue to progress with you and for you - so please leave us your feedback and spread the word.

Refurbished in 2009, our 30-bedroom property has a wide variety of private and shared accommodations to suit everyone's needs.

The dorms include air conditioning, ensuite bathrooms, a fridge, telephone, a personal reading light, linen, basic bathroom amenities and three power sockets per bed. No sleeping bags, please! If you are cold, we will gladly provide you with more blankets.

We strongly believe that one should get as much value for money as possible. That's why we offer free continental breakfast, free Wi-Fi, free linen, free local calls from your room, free luggage storage and lockers (bring a lock) and a TV/DVD player in all private and some dorm rooms.

Our kitchen is the realm of goodies, where you will be able to create elaborate French and international meals costing a fraction of the price. Supermarkets are less than five minutes' walk from here and guests can access the kitchen from 10h00 to 21h00.

Our TV Lounge welcomes you all to enjoy the 42' Plasma screen TV, free DVD rental, a reading corner and Wi-Fi.

The HMC Bar also hosts daily activities and promotions to help you socialize with other guests and make sure you are set for a great evening or night in Montreal. The bar is also our common area and you will find it very entertaining with our theme nights for everyone, locals as well as our guest. Meet other guests and/or relax on both of our terraces before you're launched into the street of busy Montreal nightlife. Otherwise come and enjoy a game of Risk or Taboo; a great collection of games await you.

Our hands-on staff have the keys to all hidden or mass popular activities in the neighbourhood, and we're committed to going the extra mile with you if the streets of Montreal have not yet worn your soles off. Discover yourself the new way of experiencing Montreal according to your mood of the day. So swing by and tell us how you feel. Come and let us tailor-make your visit to Montreal!

Got a spare ten minutes? We're a:
1 minute walk to Berri-UQAM Metro station.
2 minute walk to the Latin Quarter.
3 minute walk to the bus terminal
4 minute walk to Montreal's most alternative bar.
5 minute walk to the gay village.

7 minute walk to Eva B, Montreal's best second-hand shop.
8 minute walk to St-Laurent vibrant street.
9 minute walk to Old Montreal.
