Hostel Santantao is located in Praça do Giraldo (Giraldo\'s Square), known as the visitors room of the world heritage city of Évora. Placed in a centenary building, the origin of its name is due to the proximity to St. Antão church.
The only accommodation in the main square of Évora allows our guests to be just 5 minutes walking from every place of interest in the historic center.
Our goal is to offer a pleasant stay and help our guests to know the life, the history and the culture of Évora.
Hostel Santantao has three floors. On the 1st and 2nd floors our guests can find different common areas for relaxing, reading, watching TV or even checking emails. For those who like to cook their own meals, there is a fully equipped kitchen available in the 1st floor. Finally, at the top of the building is the terrase where our guests can enjoy the amazing view that extends from the city to the countryside.
At the reception area, our guests can find touristic information and cultural guides of the city.
Hostel Santantao has one private room (twin beds), three dorms with six beds and one dorm with four beds. All rooms are equipped with safety lockers, reading lights and windows. The two Giraldo dorms (with six beds) have a balcony and air conditioning.
The hostel provides linen, towels and hot showers 24h in the two bathrooms available.

The nearest airport is Portela in Lisbon, about 130 Km. The travelers have three ways to get Évora : by car, by train or by bus.
By car, take the road A2 in direction of Algarve and Spain, ahead 60 Km take the A6, till find the exit to Évora and take the national road N114, more 12 Km you arrive to the city and then find the City Walls. It is better left the car outside the walls, free parking at Raimundo Gate, Alconchel Gate and Rossio São Brás because the parking places inside have a expensive fee between 8 AM till 7 PM. By car take the Raimundo Street or the República Street, direction Giraldo Square.
By bus or by train the travelers take the transportation Lisbon-Évora, the bus and train station at Évora is outside of the City Walls.
From bus station, 5/8 minutes walking direction Alconchel Gate and Serpa Pinto Street or take the local bus.
From train station, 10/12 minutes walking direction Dr. Barahona Street and República Street or take the local bus.
