Irish Murphys is a really fun and friendly pub.
The rooms were renovated in early 2012 so everything is clean and new. Here you can enjoy a beautiful comfy bed with lovely white linen as well as our awesome lounge with giant TV and lazy couches. The kitchen is well-equipped and the shared bathrooms are nice and spacious. Our boutique hostel hosts a maximum of 18 guests so you will be sure to receive plenty of warmth, welcome and cheer from our family.
Rooms range from single bed and double bed to rooms with one to three bunk beds.
Our pub is open from midday 7 days a week and there is an all-day menu. Our restaurant is also open 7 days a week for lunch and dinner. Every Thursday, we have $10 cocktails and pizzas; every Friday and Saturday we have live music from 9pm; and every Sunday we have live music from 5pm.
Our facilities include free Wi-Fi, a fully-equipped kitchen, a lounge room with a giant TV and free access to DVDs, laundry for $2. You also get 20% off on food in our restaurant and bar downstairs.
From Avalon Airport:
There are shuttle buses out the front of arrivals as well as a taxi rank. A taxi should cost approx $40 to the hostel. The shuttle bus costs approx $17.
From Melbourne (Tullamarine) airport:
The Gull bus leaves approximately every hour to Geelong station between 5:30am and 10:20pm the cost is approx $30.
From Southern Cross Station (Melbourne):
Purchase a V-line ticket. The train usually goes to South Geelong or Marshall. You need to get off at Geelong station (one stop after North Geelong and one stop before south Geelong)
From Geelong station:
Exit the station to the right. make a u-turn once on the street and walk under the bridge. Once at the traffic lights cross the road twice until you are at the corner of the car dealership. Continue up the highway until you get to the first main street (second set of traffic lights) Aberdeen street. Turn right and Irish Murphys is approx 200meters on the right hand side.
Alternatively there is a taxi rank at the station.
