The Lemosho route is one of the newer routes on Mount Kilimanjaro. The route begins in the west and rather than simply intersecting Shira Plateau (like Machame), Lemosho crosses it from Shira RidgetoShira Camp. Climbers encounter low traffic until the route joins the Machame route.
Afterwards, Lemosho follows the same route through Lava Tower, Barranco, and Barafu, known as the southern circuit. Lemosho route allowing you to camp and fully appreciate the splendor of your surroundings and the clear night skies. The terrain changes as you ascend the mountain, passing through a thick forest, moorland, and scree en route to the highest point of the crater, Uhuru Peak. This is a challenging trek at altitude, climbing one of the most impressive and well-known mountains in the world. The minimum number of days required for this route is seven days, although eight days is ideal.Lemosho is considered the most beautiful route on Kilimanjaro and grants panoramic vistas on various sides of the mountain. It is our favorite route because it offers a great balance of low traffic, scenic views and a high summit success rate. Thus, Lemosho comes highly recommended.

as the first rays of the sun emerged. Spectacular ice cliffs within the crater surround you and the views of Mawenzi peak and beyond are breathtaking. Another hour’s walk takes you to your goal, the summit of Uhuru (5896 m), the highest point; Uhuru means freedom in Swahili.
