Lincoln is the capital of Nebraska. The Atwood house is located two blocks from the capitol building in the Mount Emerald historic district. Also located within a few blocks of the Atwood House are: The University of Nebraska, Pershing Auditorium, the Historic Haymarket District, downtown Lincoln, The Lied Center for performin Arts, The children's zoo, and several museums and antique shops.

Accommodations

The Atwood House is an 1894 Neoclassical Georgian Revival mansion located two blocks from Nebraska's capitol. This unique 7,500-plus square foot home is decorated throughout with Victorian antiques.

You will "Experience the Elegance" of a three-room suite. The Atwood suite is Lincoln's most elegant bridal suite. It provides over 800 square feet of ambiance, including a working fireplace and six window bay. The bedroom has a king size antique three-piece walnut and marble Victorian bedroom set with ornate walnut wardrobe. The bath is patterned after a Roman bath. It features a two-person corner heart shaped whirlpool tub surrounded by columns and marble.

Each of the other suites also has a 19th century three-piece bedroom set and private sitting area for a comfortable place to relax. Each private bath has monogrammed towels, fluffy robes and all of the amenities.

Enjoy breakfast, prepared in our award winning kitchen. This exquisite fare is served on bone china with sterling silver, Waterford® crystal and linens in the formal dining room, the sun room or in the privacy of your suite.

Business amenities include FAX, in room phone & TV/VCR's.

Close to downtown Lincoln, the Lied Center, Pershing auditorium, the Historic Haymarket district, the University of Nebraska, some of Lincoln's most elegant dining, and the Capitol.

Rooms/Suites

The Atwood House features three luxury suites, each with private sitting area that includes TV/VCR, private bath (three with two-person whirlpool) and of course the bedroom which have either a queen or king size bed. All furnishing are Victorian antiques and all bedroom sets have high backed beds with matching dresser and washstand. Each suite is single or double occupancy only.

Amenities

Each suite has private bath, TV/VCR, telephone, fresh cut flowers and Chocolates. Master suite (Atwood) has wood burning fireplace, whirlpool bidet, marble shower and fantastic dressing table. Complimentary fresh baked good, fresh fruit and on-alcoholic beverages are provided in kitchen.
Main parlor has wood burning fireplace and six window bay.

From interstate 80 take downtown exit (#401) You will be heading south on interstate I180. I-180 turns into 9th street (One way south) after you come off the viaduct. Continue south on 9th Street to K Street. Take a left on K Street and go to 16th Street (One way east). Take a right on 16th Street (One way south). Go to G Street and take a left. Go one block to 17th Street (One way north). Go through the intersection and enter the driveway behind the house. The driveway goes around to the north side of the house where off-street parking is provided.
