Surrounding Area

Located in the Haute Provence region of France not far from the Mediteranean, but up in the hills above Aix en Provence, the local is rugged and beautiful filled with rivers and lakes, plateaus and valleys. Hill top stone villages abound. There are an enormous variety of outdoor activites from hiking, climbing, horse riding, tennis, swimming, sailing and canoeing, not to mention eating at the many top restaurants. The village Esparron de Verdon, is located on the lake of Esparron, which prohibits motor boats. The village dates back to the 12th century and has its own hotel, restaurants, cafés, bread bakery, crèperie and mini supermarket. You need never leave! It is just over an hour to the airport in Marseille and 2 hours from Nice.

Vacation Rental Property

No. 7 is a village house but is connected with only one other dwelling. Built in the traditional style of Provence with stucco walls inside and out and sloping Roman tiled roof, it is nevertheless only 30 years old. Cool in the summer and warm in the winter and the plumbing works! It has a fully equiped kitchen. The salon is open and airy and light with the dining area at one end and the social area at the other. It comes equiped with T.V., ceiling fan, fireplace, electric wall heaters, telephone, spacious terrace leading from the living room through French doors with patio furniture and barbeque. The small garden is private. The house receives the morning sun but the hot summer afternoon sun shines on the other side. The furniture is pine and rattan. The house is equipped for year round living.

Sleeps & # of Bedrooms

There is a maximum of 4 persons sleeping in two fully private rooms with a bathroom on the main floor with w.c. in a separate cabinet de toilette. The downstairs bedroom has its own 1/2 bath.

Television, cassette player, telephone, kitchen, 1 1/2 baths, fireplace, ceiling fan and other fans, electric wall mou, wall mounted radiators, fridge with separate freezer, convection oven, filtered water, gas cook top.

Rates & Availability

High season (June, July, August) $600 U.S. per week 2 week minimum. Electricity extra.
Off season (April, May, September, October) $500 per week. Electricity extra.
Low season (January, February, March, November, December) $350 per week. Electricity extra.
A breakage/electricity security deposit will be charged to hold and return. Full payment 8 weeks in advance of rental date.
First to reserve and send deposit check secures the house.

Directions

Take the auto route from Aix en Provence north direction Sisteron. Exit at Manosque and head south. Take road to Greoux les Bains then road to Riez and Moustiers St. Marie. 2 kilometers outside of Greoux, take small road on right to Esparron de Verdon.
