Fully restored 1842 military fort now a National Historic Site offers special events, re-enactments, and Frontier Garrison life activities the year around. The town of Fort Scott grew up around the safety of the fort. Today there is a bustling Victorian downtown with mercantiles lined up along the brick streets just brimful of antiques and gifts. A 135 acre park welcomesfamilies, hikers & bikers with playgrounds, paddle boats, fishing ponds, and the Marmaton River runs through.

Description of Accommodations

The four-story Italianate mansion is a Victorian treasure with original millwork of black walnut, cherry & quarter-sawn oak and hardwood floors, curviliniar, opalescent and leaded glass. Sitting on just over two acres next door to the Twin Mansion with lovely grounds and ponds, patios & grille to enjoy. The Mansion offers four spacious guest rooms each with king bed, private bath, in-room tv/vcr, telephone and high speed & wireless internet. Just down the garden path is the White House, a turn of the century home with three guest rooms each with private bath. Spacious living room, dining room and fully furnished kitchen.
Also offering a Private Cottage with two bedrooms, dressing room, fully furnished kitchen, living room with 65" flat screen television, fireplace in the dining room/office, off street, covered parking, enclosed back yard with grille, patio & fire pit.

Guest rooms have king bed, TV/VCR/DVD full cable with Movie Channels, refreshment center, mini-refrigerator stocked with beverages, telephone, High Speed & Wireless Internet, private bath - two with jetted tubs-for-two, all have showers. For a "winter wonderland getaway" two have a gas log fireplace.
JOE'S GREAT ADVENTURE – Extreme Media
"Extreme Media" features a 42" Plasma TV with Home Theater Surround Sound. The big comfortable recliner and loveseat invite you to sink right into your favorite movie. This spacious guest room features a king hydraulic flotation foam mattress 98% motion free, with a plump feather topper. Love seat folds out to a twin bed. Cushioned bay window overlooks the gardens, gas log fireplace, private bath with shower.
PREECIA'S VELVET HIDEAWAY
Sophisticated oriental with King bed wrapped in burgundy velvet. Private bath with shower. In room, a magnificent Therapeutic Massage Tub-for-two arranged atop a glass pedestal featuring 56 air jets for massage, heated backrest & built in Color Therapy. Desk tucked in the alcove. Sitting area inside the bay.
