Description of Surrounding Area

A beautiful undulating tableland about 750 metres above sea level.Rainforest,volcanic lakes,waterfalls and an abundance and diversity of flora and fauna.1 Hr from Cairns,1Hr from true outback and 2 Hrs from the great Daintree Rainforest makes our establishment central to the attractions of the entire region.

Description of Accommodations

A timber pole home consisting of 3 levels.The b&b is situated on its own private level.All levels have panoramic views.There are 3 bedrooms each with its own ensuite,two lead into a common guest lounge,TV,kitchenette etc room.The third room is a superior room with its own TV and tea coffee facilities.Rooms are very spacious and have that warm timber feel.A deck provides an outside option to relax if you so wish.Privacy is assured,with private entrances, unless you wish to mix with the family.During Summer breakfast is served on the upper deck with Panoramic views,in winter enjoy your breakfast in front of a Pot-Belly stove in our guests dining room.

Description of Rooms/Suites

Rooms are spacious,timber poles are a feature.Two rooms are doubles with Queen size beds,while one is a Queen bed plus bunks. Ideal for families or couples travelling together,as the common room gives you an extra room to socialise in.All have their own ensuite.

Amenities

Atherton has a range of restaurants,pubs,fast food outlets and super markets.It is central to all tableland attractions,our establishment is only 1.5 kms from town so we are ideal as a base to explore the natural wonders and then be handy to the essentials.We are not a resort but as guests often say "real value for money".

Services Offered

A cooked breakfast is included in the tariff and rooms are made up and cleaned daily.Information on trips,places to see etc is provided by your hosts who are also locals,hence that expert knowledge.
Personalised Tours of the Region,including local farms are available,also to areas not accessible to Rental Cars,and Outback areas.Platypus viewing is a highlight.Hydroponics,Macadamia nuts,Brahman Stud and Tea Plantations,waterfalls,steam trains,volcanic lakes,bird watching are just some of the options.
Transfers from Cairns (1 Hour Drive) also available

Directions

The Post Office is at the Herberton end of the main street.From there travel 1.5 kms up Robert st.At the top of the hill turn left into Twelfth ave(b&b sign).Number 36 is 100 metres on the right side(sign out the front)
