Nestled into the point where Tennessee, N.C. and Virginia come together, this part of the Appalachian Mountains is called the Blue Ridge along the eastern slope. Beautiful, unspoiled, amazing land. Some say no 4-land highway is a curse--it's a blessing because this wonderful area was saved for YOU.

Shingle style Victorian mansion just renovated as a 5-room B&B inn on 3 acres on the edge of a small town. Three-state view, porches and private deck. Covered parking for motorcycles. Coming in 2005: The Pavilion--an ideal room for your wedding or meeting. Great view of the Wedding Garden with mountain top views.

Rooms/Suites

Romantic rooms with whirlpool tubs for 2, queen or king size beds, stained glass. Our colors and furnishings are cheerful, romantic and never "Victorian fussy." (yellows, greens, pinks) Parlor has Stickley reproduction Craftsman oak furniture. In the rooms: Robes, bubble bath and scented candles provided. Traditional/electic furnishings. Huge rooms and comfortable beds. Full two-course, breakfast, snack basket, bedtime chocolates.

Amenities

Coming soon: The Pavilion. Weddings up to 20 persons and elopements for 2 welcome in the parlor. Also suited for marriage renewals.
Some dining nearby--we have a whole lot of wonderful rural space, the Appalachian Trail and the Virginia Creeper Trail plus Watauga Lake, all nearby. Rooms have cable TV, phones, lines for computers. Onsite copier, fax.
Choice of porches and patios.
Easy access--no problems with snow. Great privacy. The smell of fresh air and the surrounding hemlocks. Lots of fireflies and bluebirds. Space to re-connect and find your inner voice.

Our celebration packages include heart-shaped cakes, flower bouquets, (including a room full of flowers), chocolate-dipped straberries. For other ideas: just ask. (fee)

Policies & Restrictions

No house pets (service animals OK). Smoking limited to outdoors. Quiet, well behaved children OK. No charge under age 12. Children booked into Deluxe (not romance) rooms only.

Rates & Availability

Rates range from $879-$169. Low season is winter; high season is fall and NASCAR weekends (Some rooms may be as high as $225 to $240/night with 2- or 3-day minimums). Generally availability is good. See our calendar on our main website then select "online availability." All rates and open dates posted.

Other Information

We offer a variety of romance packages (special cakes, flowers, candies, etc.) and honeymoon specials. Please call or email for details as they change periodically.
It has taken a few years to create 5 wonderful B&B rooms. Some repairs and changes are still in the works.. This means back parking lot may still have a pile of materials. Projects are always ongoing, from paint (eternal!) to refinishing floors room by room (off-season only). We're renovation coaches if you have a question or just love old houses!

Directions

FROM BOONE, NC: Hwy. 421 north then west on Hwy. 67 2 1/2 blocks.
FROM I-81 at Abingdon, Va.: Exit 19 on Hwy. 58 south to Hwy. 91 south to Mountain City, west on Hwy. 67.
FROM I-26 north of Asheville and south of I-81: Exit 31, north on Hwy. 321-67 via Elizabethton and Hampton. North on Hwy. 321-67 then Hwy. 67 alone via Butler to Mountain City. Inn is on right between Catholic Church and county health department. Only brick and rail fence.
