Crab Apple Whitewater is a family owned and operated adventure business in New England. Since 1983, we have offered a wide range of Mild to WILD river rafting trips for families and high adventure seekers in central Maine and the Berkshire Hills of western Massachusetts. We have two beautiful, riverside base camps to keep our guests comfortable. Our guides are trained as family members and to treat each guest as the most important guest of the day...better guides mean better rides! We run trips on high water in the spring, on dam controlled Class 2-4 rapids in the summer and through fall foliage season. Typical Day

Your adventure begins in the morning; between 7:30-9:00am and end aroung 4:00pm. Day includes: guide, pre-trip instruction, equipment, transportation to and from river, hearty lunch, and slide and video presentation of your adventure.

Age range, type of group

We offer 15 different activites for rafters of all ages. Minimum age is 5, no maximum. We have programs for all types of groups: families, friends, corporate groups, adult goups, bachelor(ette) parties and youth organizations. Restrictions: Guests with current or past heart problems or expectant mothers.

Sleeping and meals

Our Maine location offers accommodations including motel, cabins sleeping 4-12 and suites with whirlpool jacuzzi tubs. Our campground sits along the Kennebec River. Our beautiful base lodge houses a restaurant, pub, comfy gathering room with sofas, chairs and fireplace, and a conference room. Wifi. The base also includes a heated, outdoor pool, sand volleyball and auto firepit for relaxing evenings after a trip. In Massachusetts, our base rests along the banks of the Deerfield River. 1,000 feet of river frontage give you a great view as you eat a delicious cookout after conquering the rapids. The base also includes a fun store filled with souvenirs and a snack bar. Listings of area B&B's, campgrounds and motels can be provided upon request. Our few trips in Vermont meet at Mt Snow Ski Resort.

Restrictions

In Maine: State law prohibits smoking in any facilities where food is served. Covered and uncovered decks surround our building were smoking is available. No pets are allowed on the premises. In Massachusetts & Vermont: Our base is non-smoking. Outdoor decks are available for smoking.

Rates & Availability

Activity rates range from $40.00 pp for a half day activity to $300+ pp for two days of rafting, lodging and meals.

Other Information

We also offer Paintball and Moose Safaris at our Maine location. Rapid Shot Paintball is our creation - shoot the rapids then shoot some paint on custom fields with full town mock-ups, airplanes and elaborate bunkers. Moose safaris run each evening to see these splendid beasts up close and in their natural envoronment.

Discounts Offered

We offer specific programs for girl & boy scout groups, church youth groups, colleges, high & middle school, summer camps and other youth organizations. Groups of sdults - corportate groups, friends and families, bachelor parties, etc may qualify for discounts depending on group size (generally 12+).
