We are between Camden and Bucksport on Penobscot Bay. Easy day trips to Pemaquid Point and Acadia National Park (Bar Harbor)

Searsport is the antique capital of Maine with multiple antique shops and flea markets.

A town rich in seafaring heritage, Searsport is a fishing town and an active seaport with big ships mooring in our "backyard". Beautiful to see at night!

Searsport is the home of the Penobscot Marine Museum - the oldest marine museum in Maine, with 12 buildings, 9 of which are on the National Historic Register.

A distinctive highly acclaimed 18th Century seaside bed and breakfast, listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Reknowned for serving scrumptuous breakfasts on the 60' sunporch overlooking Penobscot Bay and our bird/wildlife sanctuary.

Rooms/Suites


The Lucy and Pettee rooms are on the 2nd floor at the front of the house. Lucy has a king bed and ensuite private bath with tub and shower.A charming room done in pinks and blues with a Baltimore Album quilt as part of the headboard.

Pettee has a king bed and ensuite private bath with shower stall. The bed features a massive antique brass headboard. The room is done in parchment background with dark blue, wine and hunter green print.

The Brigadier Room is an extremely quiet room facing east.. A small room with a huge view of Penobscot Bay and the bird/wildlife sanctuary. Brigadier has a fancy antique white iron queen bed. The ensuite private bath has a corner shower stall and sky light.

The Eleanor Roosevelt Suite - this is one of our honeymoon suites The room features a private bath with double jacuzzi and skylight. Withpartial ocean view, a walk-in closet, the room has a king sized bed and is beautifully decorated - complete with 2 splits of "bubbly"

The General Knox Suite: This first floor suite has it all. A magnificent antique mahogany mirrored headboard with king bed which is reflected in the antique mirrored highboy dresser , the private bath has a whirlpool tub and surround shower. A ceiling fan; cable TV; fireplace and small refrigerator complete the master room with a small reading room with full day bed for a 3rd person. Sumptuous bedding. Easy access to the front porch and the 60' sun porch.

The Library Annex - is an annex to YOUR room. It is for overflow - and has a very comfortable futon (double) - and room for an air mattress. The Room is complete with cable TV - and the use of the powder room. All bathing would be done in YOUR room.

Amenities


We have many fine dining and casual restaurants within 4 miles of the inn.

Access to computer - so you can access your Email. A cordless phone that can be used from most every part of the house.

The ocean view 60' sunporch is the place to relax on the wicker chaise with a good book - or to play a game of chess on the marbletop chess table. Or you might prefer the library - with many books to choose from - and a small TV. The sitting room with gas fireplace is a cozy place for a cup of tea. The ocean view Guest Lounge has a large screen TV; a game table and ample space for a jigsaw puzzle.

The property affords over 3 acres to roam- and you can see the ocean from most every spot. Horseshoes and croquet available.

We have turn-down service at night. Wondrous collection of unique soaps to choose from. Bedside candy dish filled with decadent Nan's Crans - and both Maple Seltzer and Raspberry/rhubarb soda - all complimentary

A continuous hot chocolate/tea/coffee bar

Mornings, a full and creative breakfast is served at 8:30 A.M. (9 A.M. in the winter time).

Rates & Availability


Rates range from $105 to $185 per night depending upon the room - in high season.

Availability and specials can be checked on our primary website at


We suggest reservations at least 1 month in advance.

Deposits, Cancellations: If cancellation is required a service fee of
$25.00 per room will be incurred. Plus - if cancellation is made in less
than three weeks. There is a charge of 1/2 of the total room charge; if made
in 14 days or less - the full room(s) reservation will be charged, unless we
have been able to rerent the room(s) for the entire period of your
reservation.

We are sorry, but we are not able to offer refunds in the event of illness,
emergency, inclement weather or any other circumstances that are beyond our
control!

Check in is between 4 - 6 P.M. Please make arrangements with us for check-in after 6 P.M.

From the south - take I-95 to Augusta, Maine. Take Rte. 3 to Belfast - where it meets up with U.S. Rte. 1 and go north for approximately 6 miles. We are 8/10 mile north of Moosepoint State Park.

From Bangor - take Rte. 1A West to Hampden - continue to Rte. 1 where you will go south/west for approximately 6 miles. We are 1.1 miles from the village center
