Description of Active Adventure

Whitewater rafting adventures on the Kennebec and Dead Rivers from May to October, funyaking, rock climbing, overnight camping, wildlife safaris and sightseeing to Maine's highest waterfall

Typical Day

Cehck in at 9am. After gearing up with life vests, paddles and helmets and an orientation talk head vis Magic Falls bus or van to the launch site on the Dead or Kenenbec River, a three hour trip paddling through Class II-V rapids, return to base camp for a hearty outdoor BBQ of chicken fish or steak followed by a slide and video presentation of your trip. The day ends around 4 pm.

Age range, type of group

Must be 10 years or older to raft the KEnnebec River and 15 or older for the Dead. We specialize in family, youth, camp, scout and college groups

Sleeping and meals

Ten site and cabin tents at the Magic Falls Campground alongside the Dead River, The Dead River lodge with king, queen and family style bunk rooms where continental breakfast is served. ADA room. Rivers Inn is a housekeeping inn sleeping up to 30 and is great for family and adult groups. Pizza parties, lobster bakes, chicken barbecues can be catered.

Restrictions

No dogs allowed. Adults may bring their own alcohol. No alcohol allowed on the river at any time. Alcohol prohibited on fmaily and youth group overnight trips.

Rates & Availability

Prices start at $39.00 per person for youth groups. Daily rafting rates start at $70 midweek, $80 Sunday and $99 on Saturday on the Kennebec
$89 for Dead River trips. OVernight camping from $10 and lodging from $35 per person

We offer the area's only outdoor climbing wall, a recreation pavilion with pool table and large video player, outdoor basketball court, hot tub, frisbee golf

Discounts Offered

Discounts to AAA members and a partnership program with campground and lodges in Maine that offer discounts on rafting when staying at their accommodation. Group rates for college and youth starting at $39.
