Our itineraries, which take travelers off the main toutes, allow every participant to experience the country, its people and its culture. These tours will enable participants to discover many aspects of the country unknown to mass tourism. They visit historic hilltowns, see ancient castles and travel to some of the best vineyards in Italy. They dine in upscale restaurants and in selected rustic trattoria, along with wine tastings, olive-oil tastings and field trips to food producers.

Day 5 - Spedaletto/Bagno Vignoni/Ripa d’Orcia/ San Antimo (8 miles) Moderate.
After breakfast, today your first stop will be at Bagno Vignoni. A small spa-town popular since the middle ages for its warm water springs. The village’s main “piazza” is a large pool with boiling spring water. Lorenzo the Medici was often a guest of Bagno Vignoni in search of a cure for his many ailments. The walk will continue to San Antimo abbey. Legend says that Charlemagne built the church at the end of the 7th century. From Sant’Antimo transfer by car to Montalcino.
