Active Adventure
Camp Grayling is situated in a bay of Black Lake, where the lake empties into the Fond du Lac River. Our camp is right next to a set of rapids, a great habitat for Arctic Grayling. We are known for our trophy size fish, especially Northern Pike, and for having a great variety of fish (5 species). During the day you will fish guided, with Native Dene guides who are very experienced and know the area, using 18ft. boats with casting decks, spring ride seats and powered by 35hp Honda 4 stroke motors. You will fish for Pike, Lake Trout, Walleye and Arctic Grayling and perhaps catch a whitefish to complete the "Grand Slam". In the evening you will enjoy fishing for the Grayling only a few steps from your cabin in the fast waters, using a fly-rod or ultralight. Our main camp on Black Lake is full service, American Plan. We also have some outposts if you wish to be on your own. Camp Grayling is owner operated and we keep the number of guests to around 22, so you won't feel lost in a crowd. 96% of our guests are return or referred, so I know you will have the great fishing you expect.
Typical Day
Breakfast and supper are served in the lodge. Coffee or tea will be brought to your cabin at 6am, breakfast at 7 and your out on the lake at 8am. Your guide will cook up some fresh fish for lunch, and you'll be spending the day on Black Lake, Middle Lake, or perhaps take one of our many fly-out day trips such as Selwyn Lake or Riou Lake. We also have a river rafting trip, which allows you to fish as you travel down river. We also have cabin with a ping pong table, and exercise equipment, as well as a card room and a sauna and hot tub.
We also do a spring bear bow hunt. We only take a limited number of hunters per season. Known for our trophy size black bears.
Fishing is our main activity, wether it is fly-fishing or spinning gear. We have Lake fishing and River fishing.
