The Thomas Shepherd Inn features a lovely circa 1868 Federal style architectural property with six spacious, air conditioned, comfortably furnished guest rooms. Painstakingly restored, the Thomas Shepherd Inn has been offering guests a memorable and gracious inn experience for over sixteen years. Furnishings and appointments are appropriate to the Federal period.

Rooms/Suites

This large property offers six guest rooms, each with a private bath. A large living room, two dining rooms, guest library, tree-top porch, and beautiful gardens are available to guests.

A full breakfast is included in the room rate. Should you seek a dining recommendation, it would be our pleasure to assist you. There are several outstanding restaurants all within walking distance of the inn. For group reservations, dinner at the Inn can be arranged at an additional cost.

Policies & Restrictions

Rooms can be guaranteed with a credit card at reservation time. Check-in hours are 3:00 to 6:00 p.m.
Check-out time is 11:00 a.m.
Our cancellation policy requires seven days' notice for refund of deposit.
On weekends and holidays we ask that you join us for a two-night stay.
We will gladly accommodate well-mannered children over the age of 12 with adult supervision.
The inn is home to two cats (who stay in the owners' quarters), so please use your best judgment about staying with us if you have allergies.
We cannot accommodate guests' pets.

FROM MARTINSBURG, WV - Rt 45 E to Shepherdstown.

FROM LEESBURG, VA - Rt 7 West to Rt 9 exit. Take Rt 9 NW to the Rt 9 ByPass. Take Rt 9 NW to Kearneysville, then Rt 480 NE to Shepherdstown.

FROM WASHINGTON DC - Take I-270 North to Frederick, MD. From Frederick take Rt 340 West to Harpers Ferry, WV Rt 230 N to Shepherdstown. - OR - Take alt Rt 40 W to Boonsboro, MD, then 34 W through Sharpsburg, MD.

FROM Rt. 480 / Kearneysville - Take Rt. 480 North to the four-way stop sign at the corner of Duke and West German Streets in Shepherdstown. The Inn is on the corner on the left hand side of the street.

FROM Rt. 480 / Maryland - Take MD Rt. 34 South into West Virginia. Continue until the four-way stop sign in Shepherdstown, the intersection of Rt. 45 and Rt. 480. The Inn is on the corner, across the street and to the right.

FROM Rt. 230 / Shepherdstown - Go west on Rt. 230 German Street to the four-way stop sign. The Inn is on the corner, across the street on the left hand side.

FROM Martinsburg / Rt. 45 - Go east on Rt. 45 until the four-way stop in Shepherdstown. The Inn is on the corner, on the right hand side.
