The courses form part of a progression from beginner to advanced levels. We have something for everyone.
A typical day starts at 8:00 am with a theory class taught on the teaching boat, teaching aids include various models, a white board and TV/VCR. After the theory class the boat is prepared for sailing, sail covers come off, the engine is checked, ger is properly stowed etc. After a bit of a coffee break the rest of the day is spent on the water learning, reviewing and developing new found sailing skills and having a lot of fun along the way. The day ends around 4:00 pm with snugging down at the dock, mooring lines secure, sail covers back on, swabbing of decks etc. All very good stuff!!
A minimum group size of 3 is required to run a course and groups are limited to 4 students to maintain a high instructor/student ratio. Everyone is welcome keeping in mind that sailing can have its strenuous mmoments. Very small children and seniors with mobility limitations may not find this type of activity appropriate.
For out of town students the cruise and learn format will be more suitable as the students live on the boat for the duration of the course. The boat is equipped with two cabins in addition to the main salon, hot and cold running water and heat. The school supplies bottom sheets, pillows and pillow cases, towels and face cloths as well as food.
For out of town students who opt for the daysailing format ther are numerous hotels and B&B's nearby.
