Surrounding Area

Mancos Valley is tucked between Mesa Verde Nat'l Park and the La Plata mountain area of Durango. This is ranch country plus thousands of acres of national forest, fit for outdoor adventure all year long. McPhee Reservoir in Cortez is 2nd largest lake in Colorado; good fishing, because it's the Dolores River. Golfing is good in Durango, Cortez, and Farmington. Mancos is a perfect base camp for historic and archeological wonders throughout 4 Corners and along Trail of the Ancients.

Accommodations

Slow down and relax; roam 80+ acres & play with Chester, our dog. Watch the sun set behind Mesa Verde & Sleeping Ute Mtn. We offer B&B in the lodge, B&B optional at log cabin; self catering rental of the guest house. All rooms close for convenience but far enough apart for privacy. Great room open to all for TV, books, board games. Hot tub and sauna. Great views from mesa top; land is pasture, pinon-juniper forest and canyon. Two 60 ft corrals if guests are traveling with horses.

Rooms/Suites

Small log cabin sleeps 4 (queen bedroom downstairs, double plus sofa in the loft). Kitchenette. Can be rented B&B or sel cater style. Log sided guest house is 2 unit cabin with SW decor. One unit is king + singe with private bath. Second unit is 2 bedroom-one bath with a king bed and 2 queens. Rent part or all the cabin; shared full kitchen, living & dining room. Great for family reunions. Two rooms each with private bath in the main house (one queen, one over sized queen plus single).

Amenities

Hot tub and sauna in the main house available to all guests. Computer, fax, copy machine can be available if guests must stay attached to work world. Treadclimber for extra exercise.

Policies & Restrictions

Pets/small dog okay in the cabins with prior approval. Corrals for horses. No smoking inside. Great room of the main house and total guest house are handicap accessible. Children are welcome.

Rates & Availability

Log cabin $160 - 195depending on season, and B&B option. Guest house $125 Unit 1; $215 Unit 2 self cater only. Ask about sole occupant rate, too. Whole Guest house $270-310. Main lodge rooms $105 or $129 B&B. Deposit of one night's lodging to hold summertime reservations. 10 days -14 days cancellation policy. Open all year; July is very busy! Some seasonal discounts.

Directions

Airport service via Durango, Cortez or Farmington. About 5 hr drive from Albuquerque airport.Mancos is at the intersection of US Highway 160 and Colorado 184. Go north on 184 towards Dolores -- approx. 4 mi. between mile markers 23 and 22. Look for western style pole gate on south side of road; drive across lower pasture and come up the hill to the right.
