Surrounding Area
Gruenau offers the peace and quite of a small Austrian village as well as a wide range of outdoor activites. In winter Gruenau hosts a nice and inexpensive skifield, the Kasberg. In summer hiking, mountain biking, canyoning rafting, swimming or nice quiet walks down a country lane are nice ways to spend a few days of your vacation. Our lake the Almsee brings us into the famous Salzkammergut region.
Accommodations
Our hostel provides budget accomodation for all travellers. It is our family home as well, which brings in a nice cosy atmosphere as well as a fun bar. The TreeHouse is located 5km from the village and more importantly across the street from the skifield.

All our rooms have a private WC/shower and most have balcony access.
Amenities
We serve homecooked meals, and have a basement bar with a pool table, darts, sauna, river and swimming hole at the back of the house, internet access, ski clothes to borrow, laundry facilities, mountain bikes to rent, tennis and basketball court

Directions
To get to the TreeHouse by train: Any train to Wels, located on the main line between Salzburg and Vienna. In Wels, change trains to a smaller regional train (track 11) to Gruenau. Gruenau is the last stop. Be sure not to miss the last departing train Wels at 21:40 or you will be stuck in Wels.By car: Please call for directions or visit our website.
