Accommodations
A large Victorian townhouse built in the distinctive brick and tile construction favoured in York in the 1850's. A four storey building in a terrace of eight similar buildings which themselves form part of a typical street of the mid victorian era. This house would typically have belonged to a member of the wealthy business community. Who knows, Guy Fawkes may have walked past this house He was born just around the corner, in Bootham. Other famous residents of this area include Joseph Rowntree. It is known that there was a large Roman Garrison in this area and there is ample evidence of this in the archeological exhibitions nearby.
