Day 1 - Santa Fe: Rendezvous in Santa Fe where local guide Cindy Leespring leads us on a walking tour of the historic Palace of the Governors, the "miraculous staircase" of the Loretto Chapel, and the 400 year-old Plaza... the last stop on the famous Santa Fe Trail. Savor award-winning southwestern fare before retiring to the flower-filled court yard of our comfortable inn.

Day 2 - Chimayo: Walk in the footsteps of the Anasazi in Bandelier National Monument. Explore the ruins of an ancient civilization, peer into kivas and ceremonial chambers that bear eloquent witness to a thriving prehistoric people. Shuttle the scenic "High Road" to the village of Chimayo, home of weavers, wood carvers, and a picturesque 18th century Spanish mission. Overnight at Rancho de Chimayo.

Days 3 thru 4 - Taos Paddle calm waters through the deeply etched Orill Verda Canyon where hillsides are strewn with boulders and walled with lavishly colored cliffs. Our Native American guide explains the history and culture of his people, during a walking tour of the 900 yead-old Taos Pueblo. We overnight in an adobe hacienda with tasteful southwestern decor.

Days 5 thru 6 - Rio Grande Canyon: For our last day's adventure we hike through the rugged splendor of the Rio Grande's "Upper Box". Here, with bold colors, the river has sculpted cliffs from basalt and pumice exposing the fiery geologic history of the Taos Plain. Enjoy the noted south-western cuisine of the renowned Pink Adobe. Relax at the hands of a professional masseuse as we overnight in a comfortable lodge.
Climb a ridgeline trail that rises through desert mesas and fragrant pine forests to be rewarded with a panoramic picnic on the rocky summit of Atalaya Mountain. We return to Santa Fe as our trip concludes.
