
Active Adventure
At the Castle Rock Institute we spend time backpacking, rock climbing, kayaking, whitewater canoeing, and mountain biking. We have students with all levels of ability and experience, and we tailor our activities to suit every particular group.
Typical Day
A typical day includes opportunity for study and adventure. Students take four courses, one each in Religious Studies, Literature, Studio Art and Philosophy, but also spend about three days each week enjoying a different outdoor activity.

Age range, type of group
This program is intended for sophomores and juniors in college, but is open to freshmen and seniors as well.
Sleeping and meals
Students live together in a comfortable mountain lodge. Meals are served "family style." Several days are spent camping.
Restrictions
We accept applications from any currently enrolled college student or high school graduate. Alcohol consumption, illegal drug use, and the use of tobacco products are forbidden.
Rates
Our summer expedition lasts for 4 weeks, and out NC semester and Australia expedition lasts for 15 weeks.
