Flotilla holidays
Yacht flotilla holidays provide a good mix of social and independent sailing on your own yacht. Each flotilla usually comprises 6-12 yachts varying from 28-38 ft in length. This means we can cater for crew sizes from 2 up to 8. Flotilla sailing gives you the chance to skipper your own a yacht for a fortnight and so have a very relaxing holiday at your pace.

For Flotilla sailing choose from three sailing areas; Greek Ionian, a great place to be introduced to Flotilla sailing, Greek Peloponnese with more steady breezes and the Bodrum Peninsula in Turkey with stronger afternoon breezes.

Villa Flotilla holidays
We have also been offering learn to sail yachting holidays for over twenty years teaching thousands to sail in just four days.

Flotilla holidays
You first meet your fellow sailors and lead boat crew at a welcome get together where there is a chat about the yachts and their equipment. Also covered will be the flotilla route, a few quirks of Mediterranean sailing and mooring techniques. Having spent the first night aboard at our flotilla base, the flotilla is ready to sail the following day. During the first few days the lead boat remains with the fleet, meeting each morning for a chat to describe destinations. Some days are gentle, with perhaps only three or four hours sailing, others have longer passages, facing brisk afternoon winds.

Whether you choose to sail alone or in company, you are not expected to follow the lead boat like ducklings. The day is yours to potter, anchor, swim or explore. The lead boat is contactable by VHF radio or GSM telephone. Each evening you moor at a new destination where there is usually a taverna to meet for drinks and a meal. Alternatively, you can explore independently.

Villa Flotilla holidays

The Royal Yachting Association is the UK's governing body of all sailing related sports.
All our centres are RYA recognised, which mean they surpass the recommended standards for safety, equipment, instruction, facilities and staff ratios following independent inspections every year.

Our instructors are qualified to run courses on yachts, dinghies and windsurfers. Safety on the water is a priority so we always have a lead boat on each flotilla and safety boats in the sailing areas for dinghy and windsurfers.

For your own safety, please be aware of centres only offering RYA qualified instructors. It is important that the centres are also RYA recognised.
