Description of Surrounding Area

The Lazyjack Inn is located on the Eastern shore of Maryland on the Bay Hundred peninsula. Minutes from St. Michaels, Easton, and Oxford, Tilghman Island takes you back to an earlier era. Home port for the last remaining working sailing fleet in the country, Tilghman Island offers a unique view of a time past. Excellant restaurants specialize in traditional local bounty from the Chesapeake including oysters, blue crabs, rockfish, and the legendary softshell crabs. Many special event are held during the year and many highlight the traditional skills of the working sailors. Cultural events including Seafood festivals, Waterfowl Festival, Food and Wine Festival and Plein Aire Arts Festival are ongoing in Talbot County. The St. Michaels Chesapeake Bay Maritime Museum features many exhibits . We are happy to help you get out on the water, a must for our area. The Lady Patty, a beautifully restored sailing yacht from 1935 is one of the best ways to accomplish just that. The Motor Vessel Sharps Island is available to get you an 'up close' action adventure to the Bays lighthouses.We know your visit to Tilghman Island will be one to be remembered .

Description of Accommodations

For 160 years this comfortable old house has watched over the waters of Dogwood Harbor. As our guest you will experience the same views and share a sense of history you won't soon forget. The Inn has spacious porches, fabulous gardens and grounds and terrific water views and access to Dogwood Harbor. A cozy library greets you as you enter the Inn.A full gourmet breakfast is served in The Harbor Room overlooking the harbor and manyof the working vessels of Tilghman Island.

Description of Rooms/Suites

The Lazyjack Inn offers your choice of 2 suites and 2 rooms, all unique and elegantly furnished and all with private baths.The Nellie Bryd Suite offers king brass bed, Victorian sofa & chair, fireplace and spectacular water views. The bath is just what the doctor ordered with oversized jacuzzi and glass shower.the Garden Suite on the first floor has queen bed, hand painted furniture, in a floral motif, double sided fireplace and private glassed sunroom with coszy seating. Once again the private, ceramic tile bath offers an over-sized jacuzzi and glass shower.Our East Room , located in the oldest part of the Inn, offers the same wonderful water view as the Nellie Bryd Suite with the added charm of antique pine floors and ceiling beams that date back to the early 1800's. Furnished with a queen bed, persian carpets 2 over-stuffed chairs and antique Waterfall furniture, Private ceramic tile bath with glass shower complete this cozy retreat!This bright , sunny room provides a retreat reminiscent of the French countryside. A unique , hand painted armoire provides a constant flower garden the varyiing shades of blue & yellow, repeated throughout the room & private bath. Bathed in afternoon sunlight, the cozy queen bed and comfortable sitting area make this trranquil room difficult to leave or forget.

The Lazyjack Inn offers a sit down full gourmet breakfast, afternoon refreshments, evening turn-down,Bike , kayak & small boat rentals can all be arranged. Or enjoy time on the Lady Patty, a 1935, elegantly restored Chesapeake Bay yacht or aboard the MV sharps Island touring the Bays lighthouses. You will also have easy access to Golf, maritime museum, art museums and gallerys , bird watchiiing, theater, or just relaxing.
