Arenal Canopy Tour
Tilajari, like most Arenal Costa Rica hotels, offers canopy tours. However, our adventure tour begins with a horseback ride of approximately 40 minutes, or a tractor ride. We continue with a short walk through the primary forest where a Costa Rican guide will explain the flora and fauna that prevail in the rainforest.

Sometimes it is possible to see and appreciate several types animals at the same time - monkeys, guatuzas, snakes and a great variety of birds. There are nine platforms located on the three species of trees. All platforms are specially designed for the observation of the life in the top of the trees.

Arenal Volcano & Hot Springs
Less than 30 minutes away from the Tilajari Resort Hotel is Costa Rica's majestic Arenal Volcano, considered to be one of the most active volcanoes in the world. This nature tour departs at 4 pm and takes you through a variety of agricultural plantations including passion fruit, cassava, papaya, orange, cacao and ornamental plants. Once you get to Arenal 1968 Volcano View and Lava trails, the sensation it's simply a breathtaking to see glowing hot rocks tumbling down the side combined with thundering explosions, a truly spectacular sight. Upon returning to the hot springs you will have the opportunity to soak in these natural hot medicinal waters for over an hour to relax body and soul surrounded by the forest. This nature tour returns to Tilajari at approximately 8:30 pm, just in time for dinner. Tour includes: transportation, entrance fees and bilingual guide.

Services Offered

Bill Beard's has daily scuba diving and adventure tours from this resort. For scuba diving 10 is the minimum age and you must be certified. Not Certified? We can take care of that also. Bill Beard is the true pioneer of scuba diving in Costa Rica. On his first trip to Costa Rica, there were no scuba tanks in the country. In 1970, Bill brought tanks with him on his next trip, got them filled at Miller Gas, and started diving in Costa Rica from dug out canoes. He was the first working instructor and had the first professional dive shop in the country located in San Jose. Bill is a Platinum Pro 5000 Diver and has been elected to the International Legends Of Diving Hall Of Fame..

In 1974, Bill Beard branched out by opening a beach location in Playas del Coco on the Pacific Ocean and operated daily dive trips from there and Playa Hermosa. Bill has many firsts to his credit, including bringing scuba diving and adventure tours to Guanacaste.

In 1988, Bill and his wife Nadine formed an association and were the first to combine scuba diving and adventure tour packages. Bill and Nadine are multi-agency scuba diving instructors. They are both Platinum Pro 5000 Divers and have been elected to the "International Legends Of Diving"
