Active Adventure

Adult and/or youth instruction by certified professionals in both tennis and equestrian programs, with at least 6 hours of instruction on full days. Programs include 2-day, 3-day and 5-day programs for adults from January through October and 6-day programs for juniors from June through mid-August (and during Spring Break), with skill levels from beginner to advanced.

Typical Day

Tennis programs begin by proper instruction of the serve, return serve, forehands, backhands, volleys, groundstrokes for beginners, with more advanced specialty shots and strategy for more experienced players, with special analysis utilizing video-taping. Morning sessions run 9 a.m. to Noon, break for lunch and rest, then afternoon sessions from 2 to 5 p.m.

Equestrian programs follow the same time frame with instruction in communication with the horse through proper use of the natural aids: hands, legs, seat, balance and voice; and instruction in grooming, leading and care of horses.

Age range, type of group

Adult programs: 18-80 years old; singles, couples, family camps also available

Youth programs: 8-19 years old; family camps or individual registrations possible for Spring Break or summer camps. We can also arrange a private program on an individual basis.

Sleeping and meals

Adults have the option of accommodation on the camp headquarters grounds, or at the Best Western Owensboro Inn, just a 5-minute drive from the tennis club or 15 minutes from the riding stables.

Wonderful homecooked meals, prepared by a chef, are offered at the camp, with a wide variety of dishes. With advanced notice, most health restrictions can be accommodated.

Adults: 2-day: $320 double occupancy, $375 single
3-day: $400 double, $540 single
5-day: $680 double, $820 single
Rates include all instruction, meals and housing

Youths: 6-day week: $550
2 weeks or more: $525 per week
Rates include all instruction, meals and housing
