Known as by the Aztecs as "Cuauhnahuac", Cuernavaca is a sub-tropical, exotic, garden paradise, just 60 miles (96km) to the south of Mexico City. With an average daily temperature of 23?c and cloudless skies, the town lives up to its reputation of the "City of Eternal Spring". A safe, friendly and hospitable colonial town where you can enjoy tropical nights and the rich cultural heritage.

General Description:
Every year, students of all ages (16-75 years), and from many countries and professions, attend Eurolingua's numerous language, cultural, special interest and summer programmes worldwide. Students include private individuals, mature teenagers, university and MBA students, teachers, doctors, professional and business people, corporate executives, diplomats and embassy staff, government employees, military personnel and retired people.

One-to-One Homestays (16-75 years):
Live and study abroad for 1 to 4 weeks, on a full-board basis, in the private family residence of a Eurolingua tutor. You benefit from intensive one-to-one, professional language tuition, enjoy local excursions and share usual family social, cultural and leisure activities. Total immersion in the language, culture and way of life is guaranteed. We collect you at and return you to the nearest airport or railway station. Programmes are available all year.

Group Programmes (16-75 years):
You benefit from a minimum of 15 hours (20 lessons) per week tuition in small friendly groups at one of our Institutes, with cultural visits and leisure activities. In order to maintain linguistic and cultural continuity, accommodation is with a selected, local host family. Studio apartments are also available. Open all year, with and special programmes during the summer.

Typical Day

The Institute
Situated in a tranquil area, just 10 minutes from the town centre, the Institute is in the contemporary Mexican colonial style, set in lovely gardens with exotic trees, providing a perfect environment for learning Spanish and about Mexican culture.

We not only have fully-equipped internal classrooms but also the "Palapas", external open spaces, ideally suited for Spanish classes, in the beautiful garden under the blue sky.

The Programme
Classes, lead by a dynamic and creative team of native speakers, take place entirely in Spanish from Monday to Friday (08h00 - 14h00) with a maximum of 5 students. The program is structured so that the student can quickly achieve conversational fluency in Spanish.

Sleeping and meals

Students are accommodated with a local, selected Mexican host family in order to maintain linguistic continuity. Full-board or half-board available.

Places of interest include the Tiahuican pyramids, Emperor Maximillian's house, the hacienda of Cortez, Palacio de Cortez. Taxco, Teotihuacᮬ Mexico City's historic centre, "Templo Mayor" (Main Temple), National Folkloric Ballet, National Anthropology Museum, Xochicalco archeological zone and Las Estacas (swimming resort), Morelia, Monarch Butterfly Sanctuary, Malinalco, Guanajuato, City of Puebla, City of Toluca and Acapulco.

Merida, Yucatan
A safe town (700,000 pop.) on the spectacular Yucatan Peninsula offering a wide range of activities and enjoying a warm to hot climate, matching perfectly the traditional and colourful Mexican lifestyle.
In the state of Yucatᮠare many tourist attractions such archaeological sites, nature reserves, traditional towns and villages. The beach at Progreso, or "Port" as the people call it, is only 30km (19 miles) from Merida and Carribbean beaches are only 320 km (200 miles), making an ideal week-end excursion
Founded in 1542, the town offers many colonial buildings, theatres, the state university, hotels, the municipal palace and churches. The northern, modern area has cinemas, restaurants, night life, sports and residential areas.
