Instruction provided at all levels for rafting, kayaking, rock climbing, mountain biking and mountaineering. The courses are designed to provide an opportunity for students and adults to experience the wilderness with peers. While we offer high adventure, our focus is on safety and fun. By the way, the food is fantastic.
Each day on the trip varies, accoring to the activity. In the mountains we rise early in order to reach peak summits before the afternoon thunderstorms. On the river, however, our pace is more luxurious, hanging out over big breakfasts on beautiful beaches. The intensity is provided on the water itself, with rapids, eddies, and long stretches which require paddling. Mountain biking days are similar. we rise at dawn, eat quick breakfast, and are riding before the sun comes up in order to avoid the heat of midday. Lunches and siestas are spent in the shade and riding recommences in the early evening. We swim, play games, laugh a lot, eat well, and sleep tired but satisfied.
Our teen groups are limited to groups of 12. The 10-13 year old groups go on 14-day trips, while the 13-18 year olds immerse themselves in the wilderness for 25 days. Adult trips are customized to meet the needs of business retreats, family reunions, or groups of friends. we also offer educational trips with resident artists and writers in which the participants spend a significant portion of each day writing, painting, drawing etc. and sharing their work.
